Well, I made two mistakes today. The first was not correctly valuing my hand against Adam’s first Tichu call. I strongly suspected I could stopped him. And I should have called Tichu as well.
When Mike called Grand Tichu and Ed passed me the Mah Jong, I made the standard wish for an ace. However, Adam immediately bombed and led a single. Which forced me to play an ace. Ace wish rejected in your face!
My second mistake was amusing. It was the last hand and Ed picked up all of his cards. So I blindly called Grand Tichu. I picked up the Dragon, Phoenix, Mah Jong, an Ace, and other cards. So it was a pretty good hand. I passed Mike a 2. I didn’t wish for the 2, but instead wished for an ace hoping to improve my hand slightly. Towards the end, when I played a pair of aces, Mike bombed with 2s and then went out. I would have made it except for that bomb!
